Beware!! Anybody wishing to book a holiday on Skye, dont use Skye Cottage Holidays. We booked last year to stay on Skye, and 4 weeks before our holiday despite having written clarification etc, Skye Cottage Holidays cancelled without an acceptable reason being given, give them a wide berth!!!

More info received from Karen

We booked a holiday on Skye last year with Skye Cottage Holidays. We
sent the cheque off and had written confirmation that everything was OK
dated 6th August last year. Then when the cheques for the balance were
sent off, Andy Butler, who we assume to be the owner of the company
started stalling and saying the cheques had gone to the wrong address,
this went on for about a month. On 23rd June he told us he had our
cheques in his possession after retrieving them from the old address,
and that everything was fine with the holiday.

Then on the morning of Friday 1st July we received in the post from him,
a letter saying he could find no evidence of our booking, which must
have been lost in their `system` and that we had lost our holiday, there
was no adequate explanation given and he did it via a handwritten letter
which we found despicable, he could at least have lifted the phone and
forewarned us. 10 people, including 4 very disappointed children have
lost their holiday.

We would now like to advise other innocent holiday makers against using this company in case they too have the same experience.

I know Andy Butler personally and this is most unlike him.
It must be a genune error.

My family and I stayed there last August for 2 weeks and had no problems at all. I booked the cottage last August. We have stayed in the cottages a few times now and it has been one of our best holidays in Skye for 18 years.

The only thing that went wrong was I left a fishing rod or 2 and I got in touch with the owner who said he would send them back but he kept on forgetting, a year later I have still not received them.

The cottages are absolutely perfect and very clean and equipped. Unfortunately the Duntulm Hotel is closed and there is no where close by to go for a drink and your dinner.
