CAMAS CROISE (Gaelic: Cross bay)

ISLEORNSAY
There are many islands on the West coast of Scotland. 'Ornsay' or 'Oronsay' is a Norse word describing an island which at low tide is conected to the mainland. The village itself is close to the attractive beach of Camus Croise and was once the centre of Skyes fishing industry.

The first public toilet on Skye was opened here in 1820.
