Notes:From Channel 4 - No other name has cropped up in our election expenses investigation as often as Marion Little. Until now, a little-known ‘campaign specialist’ at Conservative Party headquarters, our investigation has shown she was integral to the party’s efforts to win a series of by-elections in 2014, and a key seat in the 2015 General Election. When we obtained hundreds of pages of confidential Conservative Party receipts for thousands of seemingly undeclared hotel bookings used for campaign workers, her name was on at least 770 of them. Many were booked under her home address in Hertfordshire, or paid by her. Other emails show her direct involvement in organising the by-election campaign in Clacton in 2014, before moving the entire campaign operation south of the River Medway to the key Rochester & Strood battle the next month. She later played a key role in the fight to stop Nigel Farage gaining a seat in Parliament, in the key campaign in South Thanet to elect the Conservative candidate Craig Mackinlay. Serious questions persist over whether this activity was properly declared. Ms Little was awarded an OBE in this year’s New Year’s Honours List for her work during the campaigns.
